Reading Strategies

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed when trying to meet all the needs of my learners. Especially in reading. Some students are just natural readers, they understand how a story is constructed and how to use the information that is in front of them to their advantage. While others could have the words right in front of them, in BOLD lettering, spelled out perfectly and still would not understand the text or even how to begin to make meaning of it.

I recently started following a blog called TeachThought. It has great articles and information that are relevant and helpful. This recent article comes at a perfect time for me as I look at my learners and how I can best serve them.

Well worth the read!
